Risk Assessment and Management Training Objective: To create scenarios depicting interactions between professionals in high risk situations of domestic violence. Scenarios must demonstrate the importance of communication between professionals to reduce risk. Approach: 10 video scenarios based on real life cases from the Domestic Violence Death Review Committee. Each scenario is coupled with an intervention that demonstrates effective communication. True Power Objective: to create a series of Public Service Announcements that speak to males 16 – 24 years of age that addresses their role & responsibility as social justice allies in ending violence against women. Approach: Reflect behaviors and attitudes that can act as a model for what is healthy & respectful in relationships with women. The : 30 second versions of True power aired nationally in every Cineplex Odeon lobby screen across Canada in 2005 as well as on Global and CTV. The content was also the inspiration and focus for a new curriculum developed by the Faculty of Education at the University of Western Ontario.
Make It Our Business Objective: to educate and train employees in the work place about potential opportunities to intervene when they suspect a fellow co-worker is being abused at home. Approach: Dramatic recreations that involve 15 different work place scenarios each with alternate interventions. |
